IT Technician (1st Shift Position)
Overview:
The scope of this position includes both Site 1 and Site 2 Continental Morganton locations, while this position will primarily work 1st shift, nights and weekend coverage are also in scope. This position is the first line support for 24/7 production floor computing environment in addition to being the secondary office support technician. The environment is extremely complex and includes approximately 40 servers running Windows and Linux, 30 printers, 300 PCs, 150 VOIP phones, network switches, and the Conti standard MIS hardware. This technician position also currently is the MPC or MES plant coordinator for plant Morganton and is therefore primary support for all CAMLINE/PRIME software.
Core
Responsibilities:
Basic understanding of operating system concepts, databases Willing to use all Conti standard IT systems to log trouble tickets, request assistance, inventory systems, prepare production backups, etc.
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills/decision making abilities.
Demonstrated ability to read and use computer documentation
Familiarity with server hardware, PC desktop hardware, thin clients, cabling, basic network concepts able to do firmware updates, software updates.
Demonstrated ability to do basic SQL queries
Ability to restore Oracle databases on demand, execute basic SQL queries and output results for end users
Basic TCPIP networking, VOIP understanding
Understanding of how web servers work, ability to update and generate basic web pages
Ability to edit scripts
Working experience with VMware, understanding of the concepts involved
Willingness to fulfill plant MPC role (support DWH, ETLs, CAMline, etc)
Demonstrated ability to train others in all systems/IT tasks
Demonstrated ability to generate documentation systems/IT tasks
Ability to work as part of global team to support CIE and MA software
Willing / able to support a 24/7 day operations
Ability to use Mobile Iron (with training) to configure/manage mobile phones
Understanding AD concepts, ability to use
Familiarity with SMT, SSP6, HPSM, etc.
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to lead projects up to 50k$ Job Requirements Basic
Qualifications:
2 year technical degree required (i.e. Engineering, Information Technology)
3 years as IT or production computing support professional in combined 24/7 manufacturing/office environment
Preferred
Qualifications:
4 year technical degree (same disciplines as above)
5 years as IT or production computing support professional in combined 24/7 manufacturing/office environment.
