Manufacturing/Inspection Manager

This position is responsible for insuring all aspects of manufacturing (dye, finishing, lamination, raw material and inspection processes) are handled in a timely and effective manner with a focus on achieving total customer satisfaction. Control and maintain the production processes according to the production plan and schedules includingsafety, quality, productivity, cost reductions and Seiryu/5S implementation and support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to department supervisors for the manufacturing/inspection area
Responsible for achieving plant goals through daily interaction with and leadership of department supervisors
Maintain adequate levels of manpower based on production plan through interaction with human resources
Assist with implementing and supporting Seiryu/5S
Participate/Support weekly corrective action meeting
Develop ideas and plans for cost reductions/efficiency gains/quality improvements
Communicate and follow up on department supervisor expectations/performance
Have responsibility and authority to stop production to correct quality related problems.
Ensure the production and quality of products
Qualifications:
2-4 year Degree preferred (textiles or related) or 5-7 years' experience in automotive textile manufacturing
It is very important to have strong communication skills (written and verbal), high level decision making skills and organizational skills
It is important to have customer service skills and a high level of mathematical ability
It is very important to have strong supervisory skills and proven leadership ability
Must have the ability to work well without close supervision
Must have demonstrated proficiency in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint (charts & graphs)
Experience with TS16949 requirements and audits
Working knowledge of kaizen and lean manufacturing
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
Supervises the Finishing, Dye, Lamination, Raw Material, and Inspection Departments with up to 10 direct reports and 120 indirect reports.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
